I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop that has 2 usb ports on the right hand side. My youngest son has broken the usb ports, one has snapped off, the other has just stopped working after being damager previously. Can these be repaired or is the laptop done for?

They can be repaired, the age and condition of the laptop will tell you whether it's worth it. A damaged usb port can short out a motherboard though so hopefully your laptop still works and it's just the usb ports.

It is about 2years old. Is it an expensive procedure?

I would say you'd be doing well to get it done for under 100, the most expensive part of the job being the labour. What's the spec of the laptop?

I've had this repair done on my daughter's laptop just b4 christmas in bray computer centre, I rang around but they were cheaper than anywhere else with €90 whereas others quoted anything btw €150 & 'its not worth it, mate' from several people who I suspect didnt' want to do the work, so I went to bray computers centre & got the repair done in less than 2 days... excellent job & very professional to deal with.
