    Hi
Just watched a good movie on MBC at 26E, The Condemned, a real Saturday night beat 'em up no brainer, and they are advertising some good forthcoming films, so just wondering, is it possible to get MBC in HD in Ireland, even on a different satellite?

    Cheers

    TC

    Hi TC,

The MBC HD channels are only available on subscription and on Nilesat at 7W making them almost impossible to receive here in Ireland without a huge dish.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi

I read that the MBC HD channels are to be made available on Badr Sat (26 Degrees) but dont see them listed in Lyngsat - dont suppose you have any news on this front?

Yep I also read that they are going to start broadcasting on 26e some time this month but that they would be encrypted. MBC is a great FTA set of channels.

    Hi

Yeah I agree that MBC is good (U should also check out Dubai 1) - lots of movies all the time.

Just thought the HD would start now coz Ramadan has just started and it is at this time of the year that lots of new soap-operas and dramas r shown on MBC1 & MBC Drama to celebrate.

But u say encrypted, what a bummer :(

    Regards

    @iba

Hi iba, how are things going.

Didn't know you had a Humax also, could you please let me know your signal strength on MBC channels?
Also, do you loose signal if it's windy or rains?

    Thanks

    Tony.

    Hi Tc,

Yeah I have a Humax and teh Ariva 120. Ill check out the strengths when I get home. Bear in mind though that my Sat is aimed at 26. And yes, in bad weather the signal can be poor and the stations unwatchable.

    Regards

    Iba

    Hi

Just wondering what ur getting today/now in this bad weather if possible.

Im on MBC Drama and it keeps breaking up.

Getting 80% Strength but only 40% Quality which is sometimes dropping down to 30%

BTW thats on the Humax and a 1.1m Triax

    Regards

    Iba

I have a Triax 1.1m and lose signal during most heavy rain showers.

    Hi iba and rest,

Yeah I am the same when it rains, signal breaks up and not really watchable, bloody annoying..........

At present on MBC2, Action and Max all about 85% strength and 60% Quality.

But also get it fluctuating in the wind down to about 40%.

Dubai 1 is strongest at about 90% S and Q at present.

I was just wondering if I should try and re-align dish and LNB's to improve, but am kind of reluctant as it is such an easy satellite to loose...............

Also using a Triax 1.1 with a Black Ultra LNB and a Humax Foxsat HDR.

    Cheers,

    Tony.

I,m getting 88% snr/quality in the heavy rain now, with no breakups.

Have most of you here that get breakup on mbc's receiving them on a motorized dish, if so, when its dry, fine tune your dish on 26e to get as much snr/quality as possible out of it, as when setting up a motorized dish we usually set up on stronger satellites, but forgeting about the weaker.

using a 1.1 motorised im getting 90dbuv strenght and 9.8 mer, on MBC on 26e, no breakup, raining.

Iba, finding 7 W as I only have a compass and ordinary satellite receiver with a signal meter. Twenty two point one is about the elevation here also for Badr4, 28.8 is the elevation for 7 W. I uploaded some photos of my dish in the satellite thread yesterday. I am going to try to align the dish to both satellites today but there are no measurement readings for the elevation at the back of the dish. I have a cardboard inclinometer but not sure where to place it correctly. :)
