How did my date go? :)

    Hi,
Just a short question. I met up with a girl last night I had been chatting to online.
I was a little confused as to how it went.

She was really nice and friendly, very pretty girl too, greeted me with a hug when I saw her. We got along really well, chatted a lot, just had a couple of drinks and hugged again before going on our ways. So they seemed like good signs.

She seemed really nice and smiley. The conversation kept going but there was the odd pause or switch of subjects but if it did die down she made an effort to keep it going. So I was taking that as a good sign and probably normal when you don't know someone so well.

At the same time she seemed a little quiet. I'm a little quiet too so I know sometimes people can confuse being quiet with not being interested. By quiet I mean she'd ask lots of questions but sometimes she would answer questions but might not elaborate that much which is where the conversation faltered a little the odd time. I can be like that too sometimes, but and know people can mistake it for not being interested, so I'm not sure. I was just afraid that I ended up talking more. I know they say if she talks more thats a good sign.

I didn't hear anything from her after we left (sometimes I've had girls text a thanks or nice to meet you after which is a good sign but not getting it probably doesnt mean it went bad, does it?)

Anyway, I just text her today, saying it was nice to meet her, had a nice time and might be nice to do it again. She replied a while after saying she had fun too and was looking forward to hanging out again and asked about my day.

Man, I hate reading into things too much. I'm just sitting here wondering if I should push to meet up again or not. I was just getting some good signs and some not so good. The not so good might be just nerves or shyness but it's hard to tell, I don't want to confuse with non-interest and make a fool of myself.

Hmmm... anyway, any ideas welcome :)

    Hi,
She replied a while after saying she had fun too and was looking forward to hanging out again and asked about my day.

Isn't that answering your question? Ask her out again! Conversations always lull and don't forget that first dates are really nerve racking... never sure if you have said too much or not enough!

You are reading way too much into this!

You aren't making a fool of yourself - this is what dating is about, you're not psychic, you can't be expected to know if she's interested or not. If you're interested, ask her out. If she's not, she won't go.

Make a plan for the next date. See how it goes. Ask her out again. If she keeps seeing you, she likes you! Good luck :)

dont waste your time worrying about why you didnt get a thank you text or if her reply seemed odd. actions speak louder than words and definately louder than text....text is the devil in relationships if you ask me. Organise a second date now, have a laugh and see how it goes from there. Over thinking things is seriously destructive. go out have a laugh, see where it goes.
