Has anyone here been involved in a crash on a provisional license while driving on their own, if so what was the outcome with regards to insurance payout bout if they accepted liablility or if the other party accepted liability?

Not personally, but I know someone who was, and her insurance paid out for the third party and chased her for the costs.

Yup I rear ended somebody 5 mins after my Dad handed me the keys of my first car while I was on a provisional, I paid it all out of my own back pocket for an easy life, hard but very valuable lesson to learn :o

The father knew exactly what he was doing, should have listened to him, he is always right

Yes, I was involved in an incident with another car which was my fault when I was driving alone on a provisional back in 2008.
Guards came to the scene and said nothing to me - just took everyone's details.
Told my insurance company and they settled with the other driver for about €3k of damage to his car and that was the end of it.
Lost my no-claims bonus but that was it.
