I have a 10/22 and it shoots better groups with the standard velocity rounds.

Some subs don't cycle or get stuck on ejection maybe every 7th or 8th shot and most high velocity rounds are actually inaccurate. This doesn't bother me at all as I don't use it for hunting. Its just for plinking. I shoot either CCI or recently I've been buying boxes of 525 federal 36g hp for €24. They are about standard velocity and Im getting just under an inch at 50 yards ;)

The ammo Rabbit Assassin is getting for €24 is Federal Bulk . It comes in boxes of 525. It's cheap and does the trick but I found that an odd shot flies all over the place (or maybe that's just me :) ). They are probably ok for gallery rifle wouldn't be accurate enough for benchrest. Not sure what grain Fedral I was using but I think they were slightly higher than normal velocity. I used 1050 of them and didn't get a light strike once (which I can't say of CCI standard velocity).

I've put about 1000 rounds down range in the last few weeks without an issue !
but advise getting as many different types as you can.

    Hi Tommy,

I have seen people use everything, but mostly i see people using CCI standard velocity ammo, available quite cheaply from several dealers at around 70/80 per thousand.

    regards,

    DB

Not quite on the same line but ref the Federal 525 amo, took the youngest fella out yesterday and blew off the whole box through two old Brno bolt actions he was making cans of beans jump 5 feet in the air and busting clays at 100 yards . Best 26 euros spent in a long time

;) I find Eley subs reliable. The only duds I found were Remington -literally one in ten were duds. Any .22 short round will not cycle but if anybody knows where I can get them for my bolt action I'd be grateful for the help.

Normally you can't really shoot subs through a semi 22 because they jam and eventually break your firing pin but for some reason they shoot perfectly in a 10/22.

I had a savage 22 semi and replaced the firing pin twice in it. I traded it in for a 10/22 and it hasn't misfired or jammed once since I've got it.
