Quick question lads, Brother has a Packard Bell iMedia, it powers up but failing to boot the bios, screen stays black, and no beeps, we've changed the cmos battery but no joy, i reckon the mobo has failed, any ideas? is my assumption right? cheers.

try opening it up again and switching out the RAM or reseating it, reseat the graphics card, and completely remove the 56k modem card if theres one in there 9although it's doubtful it's the modem card if you have broadband).

Reseated RAM, tried the one at a time too, still not going, it has integrated graphics and no modem.

Could well be motherboard failure. I think a PSU problem would be different but if you can no harm trying another PSU in it just to rule that out. Packard Bell arn't a great make and use pritty cheap hardware in their machines, I've seen one with PSU problems before
