2 small issues I have with my car. Have metallic paint if it makes any difference.

    Issue 1

I have a small bit of white paint on the side of the car after brushing against a barrier in a car park. What should I use to remove the white paint from the car ? I took a look at it and I'd be afraid to try to chip it away. Is there some kind of solvent I could use without affect the paint on the car ?

    Issue 2

I have a small scratch on top of the boot of the car. Have absolutely no idea how it got there. Is it possible to get some sort of touch up paint to try to buff it away or will it take something more substantial. Scratch isn't very wide and isn't deep at all.

Could try this on the boot and see if it removes the scratch: Scratch remover

If that fails try some touch up paint

Not as easy as it sounds. The scratch remover will only work if it's a surface scratch in the topcoat. If you rin your finger over the scratch and you can feel it going into the paint then the only solution is to replace the paint. You can do an OK job with touch up paint on certain colours. But for a perfect result you need to sand it down, paint it, re lacquer...

The white paint I'm not certain of, might polish off with a cutting polish or might need a similar treatment to the scratch.

try rubbing compound ,if it is on the surface of your paint it will rub off very easily, if your paint surface is damaged you will know quick enough as you will see no results from the rubbing

+1 for compound, try wash the area with hot water first and go at it with compound straight after. The hot water might help soften it up a bit, did for me before anyway.
