Putting Qashqai up for sale, thoughts?

    Hi All,
Ok so the store is that the wife's hours have been cut and try as we might we just can not keep the Qashqai. So we have a 2007 with 73k on the clock, perfect condition with loads of extras such as cruise control, moonroof, remote keyless entry and start, climate control and full electrics.

Option 1) Sell the car private, clear the outstanding finance and then buy a cheap run around for me to get to work and back. We are asking 10k for this to shift it and i will have 3 maybe 3.5k to get a run around to get me to work and back and not cost the earth to run. Thoughts on best type of motor for 3.5k?

Option 2) Trade Qashqai in against a Fiat 500, IQ, Mito and finance about 6k which would save a packet on monthly payouts, with cheaper finance, tax and running cost.

    thoughts ideas welcome.
    cheers
    Brookie

Sell Qashquai for €10k, clear the finance and buy a 1 litre Micra for €1k then stick the rest in the bank. Micra should be totally reliable and €172 to tax.

Of course if you have kids then you might need to reconsider but that's waht I'd do.

Option b looks like sheer lunacy to me given it's financial constraints is prompting the sale. €1500 would buy a focus, civic etc to get you to work in relative comfortable frugality.

    agree
try and sell the qashqai(not as easy as you think, unless you price it right)

Youd probably be fortunate to get around 9k for the Nissan .. It's a five year old hatchback on the old tax band .. Assuming its a 1.5 dci .... Plenty of the out there for sale and it's a buyers market

    Could be a 1.6 petrol too, if it's a 07
