I'd have no qualms about buying one if
    a) it's in good condition with some service history and NCT
    b) it's petrol, 1.6 or 1.8 litre
    c) it costs a lot less than 3k

Could be a good buy in this case.

If it's a diesel with the 6 speed gearbox, tread more carefully. Might still be decent though.

Research the (numerous) common problems before you decide.

    2500 euro? That's way too high. I got a '02 1.6 for €900 just a month ago.

    +1, I'd almost expect to get a 05 facelift Laguna for 2500.

There is a facelift, 1.6 Privilege from a dealer on carzone for 2950. IIRC the Privilege spec. is higher than the Mirage spec.

€2.5k for a 9 year old Laguna is madness.

    Thanks again,
Yea some shocking problems with the laguna alright. 05 onwards seems to be the best bet
I know avensis, Octavia , mondeo is the way to go but fancy something else , anyway the search continues.....

Did you see the 05 one I mentioned. Asking 2950, Privilege spec.

I've no knowledge of this individual car, maybe it is a heap.

But I stick with the original comment that if you buy a good example of a petrol Laguna and check it out well you've little to fear. Even better if it is a good example of a facelift model.

Thanks, must go and look at that one.
Actually honestjohn.co.uk says that the 2005 models should be more reliable.

Also I know you guys are sayin 2.5k is madness for a laguna but there are 2003 mirage spec models goin for nearly 4k on carzone.
