97 Micra - Fix or Scrap

    Gents
I took our beloved 97 K11 Micra for NCT last night. As expected she failed. Both inner sills are rusted along with the bracing member that runs across the car behind the radiator.

All other tests were 100% fine its just the rot has gotton to the wee car !
My wife has the car 12 years and its a brilliant wee runaround for her ! The NCT inspector said that if the rot spots were sorted the car would last a good few more years. The NCT is only for 1 year as well

Do I fix it up and drive on or send it to the great roadway in the sky ?

I'll let yous decide as I cant make my own mind up !

    Thanks

Price the repairs and compare with how much a replacement car will cost you. Simples.

Surley all you need to do is a bit of welding? i mean, all due respect, its not a ferrari we are talking about. the main thing is to get it safe for the next year or so. :)

Well the front cross member will set you back $500 at an indy, as they have to cut it out and like wise from the donor car and weld back as well as stripping the front of the car, so not a small job.

    Sell it for scrap.

    Its not that expensive.

I've done it before for €350 with a brand new panel.

Sell it on DoneDeal for E10k, all you have to do is call it "vintage" or "classic" (both seem to work)

Ya 350 is the going rate, sills as well, might be better off buying another one for cheap money as you said already. Christ those micras are rusty, good little cars though, a few throttle body problems and the clutchs are small.
