Switching sim but keeping number on iPhone 4

I'm sure someone here has gone through this.
I just this week finished my iphone4 18 month contract with 3. I have arranged with 3 to go onto a 30 day rolling contract but for some reason they do this by sending out a new sim card and you port your number onto it. So my question is this. What implications do I have with regards to my iPhone being set up just the way I like it now with apps and music and whatever, with the new sim?

    Many thanks,

    Jim

No change to your iphone whatsoever. Swap SIM and off you go.

But you realise you lose tethering, and any free add-ons that you had previously?

Yeah, but I am dropping from €60 pm to €30 pm. Missing the tethering is a pain but I could replace the add-on for a fiver if I wanted. I haven't tethered in months so I reckon I will get by. I'd still rather have it though.

Yes, as is PDANet. Miwi is better, but it's pricey.
