How to use Sky HD box as FTA?

Can't find this information thru a search. I know I saw something about it on another thread. Sorry for the repeat Q.

Basically I have a Sky+HD 1TB box in the living room and a Sky+HD 250Mb box as multiroom.

I am thinking of cancelling Sky and was hoping to use the 2 boxes as FTA.

I think with a regular Sky+ box its just a matter of taking the card out.

Did I read that it's different with the HD boxes? How do I make a Sky HD box FTA?

    Thanks.

EDIT: just trawled thru some threads on the Humax. One post says with a Sky+HD box you leave the card in (I think) and when I cancel my Sky subscription, I have to go to 'Other Channels' and add all the free/available channels back in one-by-one. So to view channels on a Sky+HD I can only do it via 'Other Channels' and I don't get them on the EPG like an ordinary Sky+ box. Is that right??

Get a white FTV UK viewing card and you'll then have the full UK EPG on your HD box including channel 4HD and then you'll have no hassle adding the channels to other channels. loads of them on ebay for anything between €10-€30

    Thanks for that.

So without the white card, I would only have access to a few channels on the EPG, like BBC1, BBC2, etc. But channels like ITV, etc will only be on 'Other Channels'. Is that right?

I am not sure about getting a card on adverts/ebay. Would this one on tvtrade be better? http://www.tvtrade.ie/no-logo-cards.html

Or is there anyway I could get one from Sky directly? Get one sent to a UK address?

HD boxes are a pain, most of the decent FTA stuff such as Channel 4 etc. needs to be watched through 'other channels'.
You can get the FTV card sent to a UK address, doesn't matter if the person in UK has Sky or not, certain channels such as ITV will have the regional variation based on the postcode the card is sent to.

Without the card of the main stations you'll only get the BBCs and you'll have no itv, ch4, e4, five etc on the epg, they will have to be added to 'other channels'
If you're not happy buying the cards on ebay, then yes, that card on tvtrade will do the trick although it will cost a fair bit more, something like €94 for 2 of them delivered.

    EDIT:
    http://www.ebay.ie/itm/White-Sky-Viewing-Card-FREESAT-/150756643884?pt=UK_ConEle_SatCableFreeview_RL&hash=item2319cbd42c
This seller has 3 of them up for auction, you'll get 2 of them no problem for €30-€40 delivered
