    Hello,
My mother wants to replace her 00 SAAB 93 Automatic with something a bit more economical. She needs an automatic, and has a budget of around 15,000, so it will be secondhand. She also wants something that will have a high level of visibility - but not a SUV type of vehicle.

My brother likes the Toyota Prius, what is the general thought on these cars?

Her general car history isn't bad, over the last 40 years she's had the 93, an Opel Vectra (didn't like that at all), a Talbot Solara and a Citroen DS (her favourite).

    Any suggestions greatfully recieved!!

If a Talbot Solara was her favourite she should be easy to please.

but a DS was her favourite, so pleasing could be a hell of a lot harder!

She still bemoans the loss of the DS after nearly 25 years, I think she'd secretly like it back!!!!!

    The qashqui looks good

Forget the Prius, it's not actually light on juice.

    Citroën DS3 ? Or C3 ? Or C4?
    Peugeot 308?
All small, light, economical and comfortable.

Two Prius' for sale local to me btw.....

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

A 2.0 petrol automatic qashqai wouldn't be economical would it?

Not always, the likes of a vw dsg is economical, diesel automatics can be, small automatics can be,

Thanks for that, I didn't know there were diesel automatics, don't know why I thought that!
