Would you buy a classic off Donedeal that has no papers but a rego number, i suppose the question im asking is there anything that can go wrong???

will be doing the deed in the morning and still unsure about it as im not that versed in these things over here to be honest, ive just googled the blokes name and he seems to be well known for a long time in the classic car scene at shows and fundraising and says he cant find the papers for it.

MODS, if this thread is not cool can you wait till Saturday morning to lock it.

if it was me buying I would insist that the seller sends off for replacement paperwork prior to purchasing the car just to be on the safe side, don't think it is that difficult to get a replacement log book providing the car is in his name.

Whats the panic , pay a deposit . get a receipt and wait until he gets the logbook that is if you're not comfortable with the present arrangement .

No way should you buy it without papers. Without legit papers, it's a boat anchor/ornament.

How do know seller owns it, without them ?

Small deposit if you like, but wait for papers to be produced before any more. Get ID fir deposit. There are far more cars than buyers, so don't be panicked into it.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

What type of car is it?

Surely others with correct paperwork can be found

Cheers for the infomation, so going upto north Galway from Cork hand over deposit get a recipt, bring back all the parts i can get into the van.

Not interested in the Donedeal route to be honest, i could spend 3-5 grand on this car over the next 2 years. and its only interesting because all the numbers are matching and they match upto the Rego Number, so after i put it back together i want to show it without the "dirty Little Secret". but thank you for all the replies, im off for a long drive now...
