Employment/work

Had a discussion about this with someone last night.

In the UK the unemployed are directed to a private company that is paid by result i.e they only get paid if they find someone a job. There are various company's and even charities that provide the services, its very detailed and focused and there is a certain amount of arm twisting/threatening people with the lost of benefits if they don't apply for work ( any sort of work not just reverent to their qualifications )

Do you think the same system would work in Ireland.

I AM NOT HAVING A POP AT THE UNEMPLOYED.

They eat jellied eels in the UK. Should we do that too?

We should use jellied eels as light sabres and fight each other in the streets.

Revering qualifications has a degree of religion about it. All hail the Masters.

I think we should take this a step further and bring back the workhouse.

    Seriously.

Has this system worked in the UK? What are the unemployment figures for the Uk?

If you are desperate enough for work then you will look at all jobs on offer.

Ah you are but I don't blame you. Pop away, sure they're not going to answer. It's almost 7'o clock on Friday, by now they're under a bridge somewhere, huddled up together after spending the dole money on drink and heroin. Bums.

In the UK many of these companies have been accused of making false claims as regards getting people back into work going back decades.

Only recently the government decided to actually check the Inland Revenue records to see if former clients had actually started paying tax from employment, the paperwork suggested well over 40% success rate in getting people back into work, the tax figures said 18%

These companies have been fleecing the taxpayers for years & have had it easy as regards proof of their success or lack of, hopefully in the future they will be paid by results properly checked & verified.

"I'm talking about eels, boy! Live eels wriggling around inside your belly, exploring your organs, like internal black wangers."
