What Mixer Shower should I buy?

    Hi all

I am looking to buy a good mixer shower.

I've heard good things about Mira Thermostatic showers and, at the moment, will probably buy one from their range.

I will not be purchasing a pump, my plumber thinks the existing water pressure will work. I presume a pump could be fitted at a later date if necessary?

All views, recommendations etc. are welcome.

    Thanks in advance

    D

If your not using a pump make sure the mixer is suitable for low pressure.

    Good tip

All the showers I'm looking at are between 0.5 and 1 bar.

The shower will replace a bath and, to be honest, pressure from bath is very good.

Plumbers view is that the shower will have the same pressure as the bath. I don't 100% understand his logic but if all else fails a pump could be installed (it's a gravity fed system)

0.5 is high pressure in ireland.

You would want to be down at 0.2 bar

The shower will not have the same pressure as the pump. There will be a varient. There always is when you go from taps to a mixer vavle.

It cant be the same as the bath. the shower head is going to be a few feet higher, and it will be going through a showerhead.

another thing. Chadwicks plumb center in Sandyford has working models of showers feeding into a sink. Its nice to try them out and see the pressure and how the dials work
