Didn't appreciate Magnus' snide comment towards the Irish last night. What an arsehole. Completely unwarranted.

If people cant tell I think dlofnep is over reacting a tad.

A heel saying heel things about people of a certain area or sport team is Wrestling 101. Why is Ireland different?

I tried to make sense out of this with dlofnep on twitter. Couldnt get him to answer why Ireland is different from anywhere else. He just harped on with Irish Nationalist stuff. He also tweeted Dixie that he was speaking for Ireland.

I really dont what make a habit of bringing outside stuff on here. But he did make a post on here. Also I really not mad about turning this into a political discussion either.

Maybe it is just me but I don't see how it is massively offensive. No one else so far seems to think it is so far least. I dont see how it is any different to WWE slagging Canada. For all we know he has Irish blood.

Judging by some of the posts here I was expecting something A LOT worse. I wasn't even offended by that one bit.

Are we still living in the 1950s? Why is stuff like that that was said by yer man in the video so offensive to some irish people still? Probably the same people who go around london singing amhran na bhfiann on the streets

I dont want to turn into one of those discussions.... but still... move on people.

Who cares what some wrestling carny said, lol. I didn't even consider it anything watching it last night.
WWE should've struck a deal with TNA to bring in Calves and Abs to face Rock and Cena at Survivor Series instead of Miz and Truth.:)
that is out of a 1.2bn population though

Way to shít on something good TNA did. One of their only positive things they did; India is a fantastic untapped new crowd source; I'm very impressed they did it and also got there before WWE.

If there was an Irish wrestler in the ring he was facing, it would be a cheap pop and I wouldn't have a problem with it. But the fact that he randomly isolated the Irish out of nowhere, without provocation demonstrated a subtle undertone of ill-will towards Ireland. I felt that everything else he said on the mic was good, and he didn't need to say it to get a pop - he was over either way. It was uncalled for, and unnecessary.

I'm not over-reacting. I am reacting in the manner that I see fit. His attack was completely without context. Like I said - if it was an Irish wrestler in the ring, and he attacked him for a cheap pop - that would be different, but to single out Ireland after saying nothing against Scotland or Wales was just unwarranted.

I dont want to get into it with you or at all really now. Someone on twitter with a similar POV posted a message there the same time you posted here. Given what he said there if he was you he probably wouldnt want his tweets publicised on Boards. BUT if you say that wasnt you it wasnt you no worries then.

Don't worm your way out of it. It's not 'no worries'. You accused me of engaging in some childish conversation on twitter with you, without checking the facts first. I've never spoken to you on twitter, or never mentioned TNA. Infact, I doubt I've ever even mentioned pro-wrestling on twitter.

http://www.twitter.com/seanobriain - That's my twitter account -I've nothing to hide. Most of the people I speak to closely on boards.ie know me in person. So whoever you're chatting to on twitter is certainly not me. Get your facts sorted in future before you throw around accusations.

I am not worming my way out you are just over reacting. You were both named Sean, same age, had the same view and posted at the same time. If you say it wasnt you it wasnt you like I said. I've no way of verifying either way. I tried to draw the line with the last post...

    I apologise then.

For the record - I wasn't trying to imply that he hated Ireland, but rather that there was a very subtle undertone of ill-thought when it came to Ireland. My point was that as there was no Irish wrestler involved to cut a promo on, it seemed completely out of context to single out Ireland and I felt it was unwarranted. I'm not trying to blow it more out of proportion than it is, but I felt it was worth commenting on at least.
