There are a few places that will dispose of it for you, usually they have a 1 tonne minimum and that usually costs about €500.
Watchout for the coyboys...... insist on a certificate

I would be interested in this also, but based in the dublin area. I have a garrage that's roughly the same size as that.

I looked into it before and found one place that would pick it up, as long as I removed it, double bagged it, had it on a pallet. And like the poster above says, it was a 1 ton minimum charge. I estimate that a garrage rough that size would be about 0.5 tons.

Yea i did chase that up at one point. They gave me names of places it could be dropped off, but when contacted these places say that you need permits to transport it etc, so dublin city council were wrong etc...

In england, this material is seen as very low grade, you can actually order a special skip for it, it just has a cover over it. But ireland has to make a big song and dance about it. And as a result some people end up dumping it illegally, costing the tax payer loads to clean up....

In Italy we have had a court case going on for many years, dozens died and hundreds, propably thousands became very ill from asbestos.

Today the Forbes listed Stephan Schmidheiny was convicted to 16 years imprisonment for 'causing deliberatly a catastrophe and not protecting':

    http://www.tagesanzeiger.ch/ausland/europa/Solche-Strafen-werden-anderswo-fuer-Mord-gesprochen/story/15270396

16 years in Italy is usually only given for murder.

    Here the English news:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/italy/9079381/Pair-sentenced-to-16-years-in-Italy-asbestos-trial.html

What has that got to do with England? Well, Eternit - Schmidheiny's company - is operating there as well. And in Ireland as well.

    Interpol is waiting for him.

Better forget about investing in asbestos containing structures.

    PS

Wrong. Thousands died and tens of thousands became very ill.

Unmm the product we are talking about is cement board, which may (or may not) have a small content of asbestos. This is demed to be very low risk if handled correctly.

We are not talking about asbestos Insulation which is a completely different ball game.

Well, that's what the Italian case is about. Eternit was the main EU continental suplier for cement bounded asbestos boards.
The corrugated roofs and the shingles/roof tiles.

They rebranded themself b.t.w. about 20 years ago for the Anglican market after their name was slandered, Marley?

OP unfortunately there is no legal cheap way to either take down/dispose of asbestos sheeting. Your best bet is the golden pages for your local area under the headings Asbestos Removal or Demolition Contractors. These will have operatives who will be trained and equipped to deal with asbestos. They will also provide you with the correct certification showing how and where it was disposed. There are "firms" out there that will do it on the cheap, however they have no regard for their own health never mind yours or your neighbours. Remember your neighbours will know it is an asbestos shed and if it suddenly disappears they may ask questions, And the Council could come calling!

Did anyone manage to get a place to dispose of asbestos sheeting, I found a couple of small sheets of the corrugated stuff (think it found its way from an old shed roof next door I think) - dumped at the end of an overgrown garden I've cleaned up

I've triple bagged it and taped it all up, but don't know where to send it? I probably have around 5kg of the stuff altogether

If you have asbestos waste that you need to dispose of, you should contact your local authority to see if the landfill site will accept the waste. You can also contact one of the private companies that are licensed by the EPA to store hazardous waste prior to disposal.
