Just a little confused here so thought better ask than regret later.

Many moons ago when wiring up headunits it was a golden rule to never turn it on without speakers connected or you risk blowing the output chips on the unit.

This leads me to my confusion.
I am shortly going to hooking up some Kenwood Components to a fusion 4ch amp
This amp has loopthrough ( RCA in & RCA out )
Headunit it a Pioneer with one set of RCA's, so plan is Rca to Fusion in.>> Fusion out to Boss Audio mono amp driving JBL sub.

Fusion amp will be wired to all 4 doors with components using 14awg OFC,..

Main power cable is 4awg from Battery fused close to Battery
I plan on connection to this in the boot with fuse close to connection and using 8awg to Fusion amp ( probably 2 feet )

So my question is, Do I just tape up the speaker out cables on the headunit?
Is there no longer a risk of blowing outputs on newer systems?

Hope I made the post clear.
    Thanks for any advice.
