New scoreboard in the RDS

Is it just me or is the new blue scoreboard in the RDS really difficult to read?

Maybe I'm getting old or something but it seemed like it was blurred.. ??

Not just you. I found it looked kind of blurry and gave me a bit of a headache.

The last one was obscured by a pole but at least it was readable.

Yeah though my eyesight had seriously deteriorated tonight! Probably the drizzle didn't help.

Yup its terrible. I said to my mate during the match that when they were putting it up did they not check to see if it was ok from the other side of the stadium!

Whew! I thought I had issues seeing blue-light or something... if it's a thing with blue light, why did they pick it?

Ugh. Why don't they spend the money on a third screen in the southstand/anglesea corner!

Agreed. Found it really hard to read myself. It got worse after a few pints, but I suppose that's to be expected! ;-)

In the North Stand and couldn't make it out at all. Was with a few people and we all had difficulty with it.

Just watching some of the highlights of the game on tv now and there is quite a glow off the scoreboard.

I can only assume it's to do with it being sponsored by Powerade and their blue drink is fairly bright in colour.

Found it to be a bit blurry, but I just thought of that as a problem due to the haziness from the rain.

Yeah, it's very hard to focus on blue LEDs... terrible scoreboard... I was in the North Stand too and it was just a huge blur...

Good point actually, maybe the drizzle was reflecting the light or something.

Guess we'll find out on Friday if it's dry.

Apparently blue LEDs aren't great for the eyes....

Saw this for the first time on Friday. Boy is it bad. My vision is perfect, but this scoreboard looks like it is out of focus while everything around it is fine. Like the character in Deconstructing Harry who starts to go out of focus with the world around him:

1) The world has been making score boards for years. It is pretty simple technology with millions of working installations : how could a manufacturer make such a bad scoreboard ?
2) How could Leinster Rugby buy it ???????
