What a crazy way of calculating fuel usage!

So a bit of guess work is required here.

This means that at a cost of 1.50 per litre(ball park) you travel 6 miles for every litre.

    6 miles is about 10km

    which makes

    10l /100km

    Which is 28MPG?

    thanks alan,
mpg i had about 29 so we are close on that, but I was more interested the cost per mile. I know its pretty much the same thing but when you see it as a cost it becomes more relevant. ie 15k miles a year @24cent a mile=€3600 , time to get more economical wheels:confused:.

    so 29mpg average/not so average/terrible?

My car costs me 20c per kilometre. And that's half city/half motorway.

    Totally worth it though. :D

It might seem crazy at first, but most companies will pay you on a cent/mile or cent/kilometer basis, if you use your personal car for work.

The reason for this is to tie in the with the Civil services tax breaks for personal useage.

    We were damn close!

29mpg is fantastic in that car to be honest. City driving will murder most cars on petrol, I can't see that car doing much better.
