    Hi,
I've sourced a replacement door from a scrappy for my 02 golf, same and colour metallic silver . I've a few questions though of anyone can answer
Even though they're both same colour, will the door look out of place on my car as in will the colour look 'different'? Somebody told me no as metallic doesn't fade?
The door comes as just the 'bare door' according to scrap dealer. Meaning no windows / side mirror etc. would there be much work/ cost in getting someone to 'transfer' my windows/ locking etc from my wrecked door to the replacement?

And lastly how would the locking part work, I presume the lock from old door would need to be put into the new one?
It's the drivers side door by the way.
    Thanks for any help

I cannot see if matching to the point of not being able to tell the difference from some angles at least.

If everything is working fine on your own door, its should a simple job for any garage to swap everything over for you. Watch out for the odd rattle coming from the door after the work.

There are multiple shades of silver on those Mk4 Golfs. You would be very lucky if the colour of the replacement matched properly.

How badly damaged is your own door? If it isn't bad then in my opinion it is always better to have your own repaired. It is actually surprisingly difficult to replace a door without it being obvious that it has been replaced, this is especially true for a DIYer. There is a lot of adjustment on the hinges etc and to get everything aligned 100% is harder than it looks.
