Im thinking of putting in an air to water or air to air heating system. my house is 2400 sq feet, under floor heating and well insulated. i currently use oil but the price of it is crazy. can anyone tell me the running costs of either of the above systems for a year??

There are too many variables - size of house, occupancy, standard of insulation etc etc to make comparisons valid. One way to estimate it is to look at how much oil you are consuming annually, convert it to kWhr equivalent, then talk to your potential heat pump suppliers. You will need to supply the same number of kWhrs from the new system, and the supplier should be able to tell you how much this would cost in electricity consumption. It would be worth getting independent advice before spending a large amount of money on such a system.

If your underfloor heating loops/zones are not designed for a heat pump it wont work, well it will heat the house but the running costs will be crazy

    Hi PD1971

I know you had queried whether I installed air to water some months ago, however,I have not yet made a decision. By any chance have you installed it?
