A recent tv advert by Heineken.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlwKlC5UxPA

The impressive train station facade in the very first frames of the above video.
    Anyone recognise it ?
I thought firstly it was Helsinki but I recalled (and confirmed) Helsinki is much more art-deco as opposed to this neo-classical style.

I'd be interested in ids of the other locations in the advert but it is the train station that has me riddled most at the moment.

    Answers on a postcard ;)

    Centraal Station in Amsterdam.

The ad starts out in Gare du Nord, Paris:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gare_du_Nord

39 seconds into the clip, you are seeing Gamla Stan, Stockholm, Sweden:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamla_stan

The ad is supposed to end in St Petersburg but as they never show the station there from the outside, it is hard to tell.

Notice by the way that the ad shows a route from Paris to St Petersburg via Berlin and Warsaw. Stockholm is definitely not on that route :).

Looks kinda similar but it's definitely different.

I really want to know where it is too now. Damn it.

Well done. Yes Gare du Nord looks definitely correct.

I wonder what the in-station restaurant/bar (with the Heineken ads) is ?
Not sure if that is also Gare du Nord.

    Well spotted on Stockholm.
Looks like some stock footage they added just to get a wintry scene that the untrained eye wouldn't recognise as StPetersburg or not.

It's not in the Gare du Nord. Was there a few months ago and the interior is quite different. It's some station in Portugal.

    from the post I deleted:

The ad was directed by Vaughan Arnnell whose previous work includes the cinematic Name Change campaign for Aviva, in addition to projects for Ford, M&S and Ladbrookes. Vaughan has directed a rolodex of celebrity talent including Nicole Kidman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Alan Rickman and Bruce Willis to name but a few. The commercial was produced by Stink Productions and shot in Portugal where a French café was created in a local train station alongside a St. Petersburg style bar. Alan Kelly of Rothco is the creative director and the soundtrack is by the critically acclaimed Monaghan artist Ryan Sheridan.

Did you delete it because the answer had already been given when you posted? That's slightly funny because of undo's username.

Because I had thought the exterior was from Portugal from the adworld blurb. Since I was in the Gare du Nord recently I kinda should have known better, but we only had our smoke break out the side entrance so didn't see the front.
