Since no one else has started a thread on this match which inexplicably clashes with the Ireland match (save half an hour) is on Friday, I will. No TV but I gather Galway Bay FM will be providing the usual enthusiastic coverage.

    Teams:
    Connacht
    15 Gavin Duffy (C), 14 Fetu'u Vainikolo, 13 Kyle Tonetti, 12 Dave McSharry, 11 Tiernan O'Halloran, 10 Niall O'Connor, 09 Paul O'Donohoe

01, Brett Wilkinson, 02 Adrian Flavin, 03 Ronan Loughney, 04 Michael Swift, 05 Mike McCarthy, 06 John Muldoon, 07 Ray Ofisa, 08 George Naoupu

16 Ethienne Reynecke, 17 Denis Buckley, 18 Stewart Maguire, 19 Dave Gannon, 20 Mick Kearney, 21 Dave Moore, 22 Matthew Jarvis, 23 Henry Fa'afili
    Cardiff Blues
    15. Ben Blair 14. Richard Mustoe 13.Casey Laulala 12. Gavin Evans 11. Tom James 10. Ceri Sweeney 9. Richie Rees

    8. Xavier Rush 7. Martyn Williams 6. Maama Molitika 5. Paul Tito (C) 4. Michael Paterson 3. Sam Hobbs 2. T Rhys Thomas 1. John Yapp

    16. Ryan Tyrell 17. Nathan Trevett 18. Ryan Harford 19. Cory Hill 20. Macauley Cook 21. Lewis Jones 22. Gareth Davies 23. Tom Williams

Just the one change for Connacht, McSharry back in for Fa'afili, Cardiff able to field a pretty strong team, 6 Nations considered.

    Handicap has Cardiff by 11.

My mistake, was looking at the wrong thing on Paddypower.

Can a mod amend the title line, plox?

I was about to lash in to an anti Welsh rant there for a min before I realised the dates :pac:

It looks to be a stringer Connacht team and a weaker Welsh team than played in the 20-26 game earlier this season. Connacht at -11 seems to be very good! Cardiff have only won once in their last 4 games, at home to the Dragons, and were awful in their last HEC game. The one they had to win against an already out Racing Metro team. Only knowing this from watching the game you would have thought Cardiff were the team that were out.

Griffin still out, that hamstring has given him a lot of bother this season. Pity as he was going so well before that.
We've never really done well in Cardiff, lost by 16 last year, 12 the year before, and we won't mention the scoreline the year before that! So not too optimistic about this one. Pity its not on tv...

we really need to make hay while the other teams have players at the 6N!
fancy us in this one in galway they had a better team out and we really should have put them to the sword!

bookies connacht +11 (oh get on that one!)
    outright 4/1 possible but unlikely!

    GWAN CONNACHT!
oh and rob murphy dont jinx the team and say "if they can get one more score then they should be home and hosed" at 55 mins!!!

    ;););)

Rob will entertain us as always no doubt. I fancy Connacht to get within the 11pt handicap this evening. The players will no doubt be dying to continue our great winning run of games (game).

Is it the first professional game there since the Cardiff City Stadium opened? Cardiff City play at 3:00pm tomorrow and there probably just isn't time to prepare the stadium. The Cardiff RFC amateur side I believe still play at the Arms Park.

Connacht get 2 tries to Cardiff blues 1.

But ultimately paid the price for lack of discipline & Ben Blair slotted 5/5 penalties.

The Blues did well considering how many front line players they are missing.

Duffy was immense, O'Halloran did very well too.
