Hi, I would like a diesel jeep. could anyone recomend one for me that has 4 seats. something like a pathfinder would be great. this will be my first one. i want to get something that has less than 100,000 km

Steer clear of "Jeep" jeeps anyway.....I had 4 of them and they broke my heart. I know, I know, why did I keep buying them so? Long-ish story involving budget and silly brand loyalty. But best avoided.

Pathfinders scored 2 out of 5 in whatcar.com reader review. Was looking for one myself and after reading the reviews, I wouldn't go near one.

Landrover freelanders and discos both have bad reviews for unreliability. Also expensive to fix when the s##t hits the fan.

X5's are too expensive to run. Also have probs, And for your budget, too high mileage.

Not the most dynamic of 4x4 but I bought a brand new KIA sportage 3 years ago fully loaded and the only thing that has gone wrong in 60k miles of driving was a blown sidelight bulb. Fantastic motor. Uk spec limited edition. Brought it over to Ireland when I moved here. Plenty of tidy ones around for less than 9k.

Have you thought about L200 pick up by Mitsubishi? Very nice ;-) mate has a fully loaded one. All black with chrome. Proper head turner.......

More 4WD/AWD than you'll ever need in Ireland, within budget, handles like a car, loads of space, well specced, fast, reliable, comfortable, safe and not very common in Ireland.

Smaller engined non turbo versions available too for less money if your concerned about tax and insurance.

you sure you want one? I wanted one and didn't really need it nor could i afford one I "wanted" so went for a nice focus instead. Recently driving a 2001 LWB land cruiser as well and to have the hassle of anything near that size everyday would be horrible, never mind the running costs. Ye its a nice change every now and again and its different etc but it'd be a long time before I own something like that. Maybe a nice new pajero or something would be smoother, but not unless I needed it.

they look lovely, but in the 2.5 the engine is made from chocolate, they are appaling to drive ( both from bitter experience) and unless ur name is Sheik Maxol Ben Esso the diesel bill is horrific imo.

Op. Have you looked at the X-Trail, a couple of my friends have them and seem quite happy.
