Can anyone advise me on if there's a place in Kerry/limerick which repairs these screens or if I'd be best fitting a new one myself following an online tutorial?

I have insurance but wonder if it'd be cheaper not to go through a claim, read of people buying screens for €23

If you have insurance use it..

If you get non AD 3rd party to fix it, this will void your warranty with Apple
If something else happens and you send to Apple they will tell say that you void your warranty and then charge you.

The narrower a man’s mind, the broader his statements.

How much is your insurance excess, it may be wise to go down the insurance route as you'd probably be paying €130 to €150 a year for someone to replace the screen in a shop.

This will void your apple warranty, if you decide to open it yourself you will also void the warranty.

The excess is €50 because it's outside the first two months of cover. Makes sense to use it then!

Make sure that the insurance company are sending it back to Apple!
Apple just replace it rather than repair it!
