In response to much local interest, a public meeting will take place on Wednesday 7th March at 8.00pm with a view to establishing a Community Men’s Shed in Greystones.

The Men's Shed movement is global not-for-profit initiative which brings men of all ages together to collaborate, exchange skills and work together on projects that benefit their community. It is a perfect way for men to improve health and wellbeing by getting out of the house, making new friends, and socialising as part of a group, whilst either sharing or learning new skills, or even both!

The meeting will be attended by representatives of the Irish Men’s Sheds Association who will share their expertise in helping communities establish their very own sheds. Find out more http://www.menssheds.ie/

Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting, so get involved in the Greystones Men’s Shed by attending the meeting at Upstairs @ The Beach House, The Harbour, Greystones on Wednesday 7th March.

Where was the Men's Shed meeting tonight? My OH went to Ustairs at the Beach House at 8pm as advertised but found it closed with no signs anywhere redirecting people.

    Selandia,
I am very, very sorry about that - the Beach House moved us in to Dans - the guys behind the bar in the BH were supposed to direct people next door.

It was a good meeting - around 15/20 men and women turned up - John McEvoy from the Irish Men's Shed Association was up from Waterford to present - very informative.

Here's a Youtube link to Louth's Men's Shed - it kind of encapsulates the movement http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nGMro2Vtrw

There's another meeting next Thursday at Kindlestown Centre in Kenmare Heights next Thursday at 6.30pm

Sorry again for your wasted trip.

    Best
    BArry

Hi Barry what is the age group limit to join a shed is there a upper or lower limit. Thank you interested party

Not entirely sure but I 'believe' there might be a lower age limit of 18 to attend a Men's Shed, but no upper age.
For a more specific answer you might contact the Irish Men's Shed Association http://www.menssheds.ie.

Greystones' Men's Shed opens Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10am to 1pm, and I heard recently that there is also an evening meetup on a Wednesday. Venue is the Scout Hall at the north end of Church Road.

    Hope this helps.
