Yeah, good show. Funny. Don Wycherly, Ruth Bradley, Tom Suillivan, Owen Mc Dermott, Hughie McGarvey are all back for the 2nd series. :D

From what i hear no Owen Roe (he died did he not?) or Olga Wherly this time.:(

Gosh! You didn't give much notice there :pac:

Thankfully it's repeated on Saturday at 9.20pm.

I watched this tonight and I have to say I thought it was awful. I wanted to like it, I really did, because I'm a big TG4 fan, but this was muck! So O.T.T, Don Wycherley was over acting to the point that it was laughable!

Utter crap without the three Donegall lads, the Da Barra Brothers, wonder why they god rid of the funniest charachters from the last show? Who is the guy with the twitch? He's one irritatant. Big let down last night. Maybe it will improve.

Are they not in the starting titles?

Missed the first couple of minutes of the show last night. So i didn't see. If so, why were they not in the show last night? And what about that stag party from Wexford? What excatly are they supposed to be at? Walking around with their hands in their pockets lokking bemused and wondering what they are supposed to be doing!? A waste of ink and paper. And that guy with the twitch, what is he supposed to be at? He's not funny and if he keeps it up during the whole run of the show i'll be switching off.

Enjoyed Don Wicherly and his Side Kick, the grey haired driver. And the teeshock! Even thought his his inabilty to pronounce words began to grate after a while.

    Hope it improves!

According to this article from the Mayo News the "newly-released convicts the de Barra brothers" do turn up.
TG4 backs a winner in the West

TG4’s fast-moving comedy drama Rásaí na Gaillimhe returns to our screens tomorrow night (Wednesday) at 9.30pm. Set around events on and off the course during the most hedonistic week of the summer – Race Week in Galway – the show won the Irish Language prize at the 2010 Irish Film and Television Awards (IFTA) after being shortlisted in no less than seven categories.
The Galway races again form the perfect setting for another seven expisodes of dodgy schemes, misplaced dreams, wanton excesses and outright indulgence. The plot updates us on the shenanigans of former high-flying Government Minister Ultan Keane (Don Wycherley), now down on his luck and fighting for his political life.
Keane will have to resort to drastic and extreme measures to ensure his survival, aided and abetted by his shrewd side-kick, Creed (Tom Ó Súilleabháin). Enter newly-released convicts the de Barra brothers and life is sure to be complicated for Siobhán (Carrie Crowley), the Garda officer trying to battle crime and anti-social behaviour in the City of the Tribes as thousands gather for the racing and ructions. A stag party and an emergency-room doctor add spice to an already volatile mix as rogues, rascals and the righteous all try to survive a tumultuous and traumatic week that will alter their lives forever.
Instantly accessible to new viewers, Rásaí na Gaillimhe 2 promises to be part thriller, part romp and entirely enjoyable. The cast includes Don Wycherley, Tomás Ó Súilleabháin, Carrie Crowley, Sorcha Ní Chéide, Donncha Crowley, Owen Roe, Éamonn Hunt, Marcus Lamb, Páraic Breathnach, Bob Quinn, Neasa Ní Chuanaigh, Paddy C Courtney, Barry McGovern, Liz Quinn, Aoife Nic Ardghail, Fred McCloskey, Róisín Ní Chualáin and Bríd Ní Neachtain.

The fact that they're all in the starting titles kinda gives the game away as well.

Enjoyed it - wasn't amazing, but then again it needs to set up the rest of the series, so hopefully next week will be back on form.
The first season was so great, I was skeptical about season 2 from the get go - seemed very much like it should be left a 1 season show, but hopefully I'll be proved wrong...
Very glad to see the majority of the cast back, and quite happy with some of the new faces that have popped up...

I enjoyed the first episode of this.

As a non Irish speaker there are two things that I'm curious about.

Why do the Irish speakers use the odd english sentence even when having an Irish conversation.

Secondly I did not notice any Irish sub-titles for when english is spoken.
(I know that there is probably no Irish speaker that doesn't understand english but still ?)

Take a trip to the the Gaeltacht - native speakers switch seamlessly between Irish and English even within a sentence.

Nobody speaks solely Irish anymore - last native speakers would have died out nearly a century back (think Peig Sayers).

Glad to see the Da Barras back in full flight tonight! Wonder why they weren't in the first ep? They are a gas laugh. Love Wicherly and Creed. Guy with the twich is not funny and not smart. Quite annoying actually.

This is on again tonight, still wondering how they are going to explain the Noel Lacey rise from the dead?! Also that doctor, what's he been in before, looks very familiar?

Seems he's a twin brother!;) Bobby Ewingesque!:D It's getting better with every episode. Really happy about that as the first episode was a bit lame. Main cast are all very good. Whoever thought to give the guy with the stutter a gig was of their head (maybe he really has a stutter?) Not funny and like i said before very irritating! Stag party seem like a useless addition.

They may have solved the mystery of Noel Lacey but just how did the Crew-Cab manage to lose the Squad car.

    Goldfish Blender was awesome...

Great to see Róisín Ní Chualán and Neasa Ní Chuanaigh as Keane's girls... Two great actresses...

Can't wait for next week. Is this season only 7 episodes again or is slightly longer?

It was but I hope no fish were harmed in the filming of it :D

    It's a seven parter.

I happened to flick this on, didn't stay with it but it seemed quite bright and breezy and probably the sort of thing that RTE1 should be doing but can't/won't.

Remind me again S Smyth, you do or don't like the guy with the twitch ?
    I forgot

    I forgot

Bit of a simpleton are you?

I have already pointed out twice in previous posts that the guy with the twitch is not funny, not clever and not much of an actor either, perhaps he does actually does have a stutter and therefore i admire the directors cojones for casting him.

If not....... well, like i said..... it adds nothing to the character. You probably find it hilarious as you seem to be of the same ilk as the aforementioned 'actor'. A bit slow on the uptake of all things. The early onset of Alzheimers setting in perhaps due to your forgetfulness. There are tablets you can take for that. I'm sure Social Services would point you in the right direction.

To conclude i stopped watching it half way through last week as it's a pile of shyte in comparison to the first series.

    Dobre Noc.

Just watched episode 4 and 5 back to back... I have to say, I think this season is just as good as the first... I was worried that it would crumble, but it really is amazing...
Looking forward to the last 2 episodes now... I think the entire cast are fantastic, but Don Wycherly and Tom Ó Súilleabháin are just superb as Keane and Creed...
Anyone think they might manage a 3rd series or will the be it?

Sorry to drag up an older thread, will there be a third series does anyone know? I quite liked it.

Does anyone have the first two series? Or is there anywhere I could find them online. Would love to watch them.
