Shimano 105 Gear Cable Snapped - Cable head stuck

The gear cable on my 105 shifter today on the way home. Normally it'd be an easy fix except that the cable head has fallen out and into the shifter body.

Has anyone any suggestions on how to get it out short of disassembling the entire shifter? Its not visible though the normal gear cable holes on either side.

It might not work but you try pushing a length of cable (cut clean) back into the lever from the inside and see if that will let you wiggle it out...

Unfortunately it seems to have dropped all the way down into the teeth in the body. Gap between both sides is clear.

unbolt the shifter, turn it upside down and shake?

Is it visibly when you push to shift or pull to brake? Get a small allen key to get it out? Or a tiny glasses screwdiver?

You may be in a slight bit of bother, the shifters are very easy to disassemble but NOT so easy to reassemble but lets hope it doesn't come to that!

Give crow92s suggestion a try, you may get lucky.

Have you ever dreamt of being a micro surgeon? That happened to me last year and it took the BF 4 hours to get it out ... he undid the whole shifter, it was quite riskey ... but he's pretty awesome so he pulled it off!

Thank you! Combination of this and tweezers and I got the end out of the shifter.
