How much would cost restore them ?

I know, its been covered who does them, ... and there is quiet a lot when google around, but nobody states the prices.

Any suggestions with prices Dublin 15 area ?

    Thanks

Depends on the size of the wheel and the complexity of the design, anything from 50 Euro a corner up to 100.

Do they do actual work on wheel, i presume tire has to go off, and wheel has to be split (it has these star ish screws), than sanded, pained .. or whatever coated.

wheels really badly corrosed, leaking air from two wheels.

also, do they give replacement wheels, as i dont think so it is couple hour job.

i have never got work done by them myself but i have heard good things about them. ya it will be tyre off, split, sandblasted, primed and finished in whatever colour you pick. i dont think they do replacement wheels.

    Buy a set on DoneDeal,
Take the tires off your own ones and flog your old wheels on DoneDeal.

That's what I did with my wheels and have just about broke even, If you know where to look and are quick enough. Bargains can be had.

    Used this crowd last week.

Job well done but the silver colour is crap. They said its there most popular and was recommended it. Too white and sparkley.

I'd give a +1 to Tallaght Powder Coating.

Done the 18" on my old BMW that were in horrendous condition and they looked brand new. The guy in there - can't remember his name but had and English accent - suggest a particular finish for them and he was right, they looked stunning.

    Cost €100 incl VAT for each corner (i.e. €400 :) )

Its fairly labours intensive so it will cost you, I had the same problem with mine spend a few days sending then back, slowly using finer sand paper then sprayed them with lacquer. They look gd as new but took me a day a wheel tho

There is a guy in Tipp Town who has a very good rep. I recently called him about refurbishing my 4 x 18" GTI Monza's and he quoted me €300 for the lot.

Ive seen BBS split rim 19s (Probably about 5-8 grands worth) refurbished and it was crap. Theres alot of work in doing them right, including removing all the screws , sanding, welding, sandblasting, acid etching, sanding, priming, laquering and its probably not possible to have the work done properly in Ireland( although maybe Im wrong). Id be looking for someone good in the UK and shipping them there. Ive heard of a story where split rims were sent for refurbing in the UK , came back were fitted to the car and the owner drove onto the continent and all the screws in all the wheels started undoing themselves and the car had to be put on a transporter to get it home!

Wheel doctor, best in the country ;-)

Regarding the Wheel Doctor I don't think his work is anything special unless he has improved his standard a lot in the last 18 months or so. I have seen wheels refurbed by him and he doesn't do anything better than I could do at work myself in a couple of hours with a spray gun.

I saw a set of wheels refurbed by Wheel Wizards last week and they looked ok apart from the shade of silver used which was way off the factory colour (too bright). Looking at the wheels it was immediately obvious they had been repainted.

I have seen a lot of wheel refurbs and the only company on the island of Ireland whose work I would consider top notch is Nu Luk in the north:

    http://www.nulukwheels.co.uk/

A customer of mine had a set of wheels done by them last year with a diamond cut and lacquered outer rim and the wheels were as good as a new set afterwards.

They are pricey however. I bought a set of wheels for my Audi last August and they needed a refurb. They are standard 18 inch S4 wheels, not split rim or polished or anything that would make them time consuming to refurb. I priced it with Nu Luk and they wanted £320.

In the end I had them refurbed in the UK by a company called Lepsons. They did a top quality job for £200 + VAT for the set of four. Obviously the shipping will be an issue but in my case the wheels I bought were in the UK so I just had them sent straight to Lepsons and then got them collected from there and sent to me.

If you have a look in the media section on their website you will see that they know what they are doing.
