Summer Clothes - For Men

Planning on holidaying in Rome & Italy in August and need some tips on clothes.
My usual summer wardrobe is shorts and tees and then a shirt at night.
Need some longer trousers for Rome and not sure what to get.
I generally just wear jeans (which might not suit real warm weather) so can anyone offer some suggestions for alternatives ?

You'll melt in denim, its not very breathable. I advise linen trousers in dark shades.

Chinos wouldn't work for warm weather either, especially not for a long period of time whilst it's very warm.

Try looking in shops for soft fabriced trousers in browns/navys/blues as they'd be handy to have whilst abroad and wouldn't cling to your skin like jeans/chinos.

OP you should soon be able to find linen trousers in the shops- you'll get a range of different cuts and stuff from those cut like suit trousers, like jeans/chinos, and much baggier cuts which might do you better in the heat. Best bets might be M&S and possibly H&M/New Look.

Its far more important to focus on the material i.e. what the garment is made out of. Cotton i.e. the fibre used in chinos and denim etc. is not very breathable or suitable for humid/hot weather. You would be better off with trousers made from linen, its open weave and breathability make it standard use for warm-weather wear. Some men's shops as listed will have certain styles, the other option is to go to a tailor and get some made.

Wait till you get there, see what the locals wear, buy accordingly.

Italian men wear jeans most of the time.
