    Hi Guys,

I am buying a 08 mazda 3 soon off the dealer. And just wanted to know if you guys have any advice to give.

    1. I have car atm and how will I transfer my insurance to new car.

    2. what happens to tax. I believe i cant tax the car until its been transferred to my name.

    3. what documents should I look for the car from him.

    4. I am thinking of paying him with a draft, is that ok?

any other advice you may have to offer please do so.

    Thanks

    1. Call your insurance company, worth doing this before you buy any car to check out insurance cost.

    2. Ye, you need to have the car in you own name to tax. Ask to dealer to send off the forms as soon as possible.

3.Dealer should look after change of registration, I'd ask for the service history (if any), a written receipt and warranty (if any), and the NCT certificate.

4.Money is money, but ask the dealer to be sure.

For other advice I'd recommend reading this thread.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
