i use a humax freeview box up here in leopardstown , south dublin and it also picks up the soarview channels .
just need to confirm something and im not trying to be smart .
you know freeview works through your roof top aerial.
and freesat works thru your satelite dish.
i hope this is some help

You mustn't have looked too hard ...

There are several satellite/terrestrial combos available, such as the Ferguson Ariva 120 which has several threads in this forum.

None of these as yet is officially approved for Saorview.

There should be no problem adding a Saorview box to your current setup, provided your tv has a spare AV input.

You say you get your UK channels through a sat aerial but there is no such thing. It's either through a satellite or an aerial. (As you live in the south east of the country I guess it could be either).

If it's via satellite then you could either replace the box you receive this on with a combo box and have all channels through the one EPG or you could just add in a Saorview box and flick between the two.

If you get your UK channels through an aerial then the Freeview box you're using is most likely UK standard. If you replace this with a Saorview box you could get both Irish and UK channels through this box.

A satellite dish is an aerial (or antenna or whatever), the satellite is up in space.

Good point. Should have said satellite dish / aerial. The less ambiguous the OP is though, the more people can help.
