    Hi All

I'm looking at buying a 2004 Kia Sorento with automatic gearbox. It's the high spec model with leather, wood etc.

Has any body any experience with these- positive or negative?

    Thanks

I had a 2004 model from 2008 to 2010 , bought it with 55k miles on it and sold it at just over 100k miles, never had an issue with it except the sunroof leaked once and a replacement seal was fitted and that was it. Lovely car to drive, not too hard on diesel and the 5 speed auto box is great, thats the only thing to watch out for an auto one , in 2003 / some early 2004 they had the older 4 speed auto which goes straight down P R N D 3 2 L , if your getting one , look for the newer 5 speed which is P R N D and shifts to the left for + - selection. I never experienced it but the electric drivers seat has been known to stop going backward, this is simply the switch contacts needing cleaning and is a handy job to do with a bit of alcohol and a cloth. Engine is bulletproof and has a timing chain so no belt to worry about.

I have a 2006 auto.. great to drive the only issue i have with it is when you pull a fully loaded trailer (3 or 4 cows) it is quite slow to stop i would hate to have to stop it in a hurry used to have a land cruiser which was great for pulling..... Otherwise a super jeep..

Have an auto. Love it. Tows fab. I havent noticed an issue with stopping but wouldnt be towing that sort of weight of 3-4 cows either. (horsebox +2 big horses)

Get it if its in good nick. Mine is heading for 120,000 miles now (bought with 60,000). And no major issues thank goodness.

Yes. Go for it. Excellent Jeep. We have 2006 model and The Queen uses it a lot for horsebox duty. Nearly 170kms on it and no issues. Tax is a killer though at 1100euro but it's better than the newer models we're told.
