Unusual item on my task bar

    Can anyone identify this process on my taskbar.
    It only comes up sometimes and dosent give me any information when I scroll over it.

    It's a Dell utility called Quickset which controls all the keyboard shortcuts for stuff like brightness, volume, etc.

    If you have a numeric keypad, try pressing the NumLock key (above the numeric 7) and see if this clears it.

    It's very silly from Dell that hovering the pointer or left/right clicking on it doesn't display any info about it. Because of this, many people have been afraid that it's malware.

    It is as dilallio says, just dell quickset, which will run under quickset.exe. Nothing to worry about.
