Advice re buying used VW Touareg 2004

    Folks,
    Am considering buying a VW Touareg, 2004, 2.5ltr Diesel, 80kmiles. Circa €10k.
    Need a vehicle with a big boot (double buggy, dog etc) and something high (to avoid back problems loading in kids).
    Considering VW because I want a reliable car that despite age /mileage, I will get a few years of good driving yet. Obviously worried that I would run into repair costs on top of loan repayments.
    Any Touareg drivers with sounds advice? Will there be life left in this baby yet?
    BTW, buying from a dealer (trade-in situation), so will have a 3mth warranty.

    no mechanical advice to offer but make sure to calculate tax / insurance / diesel costs and wear and tear items like tyres. if your used to running a car you can expect overall running costs to double at least.

    Could be costly to service and hideously expensive if it does go wrong.

    I know a guy with a commercial Toerag and he reckons the 2.5 is underpowered and thirsty because of it.
    They weigh over 2500kg!
