Parcel handed over to customs

    I ordered some electronic equipment online and was wondering does anyone know how long it's going to be sitting with customs? The delivery path has gone like this and it's been sitting in customs now for two days! There's no duty payable on it, maybe VAT but I thought I would have heard something by now

    I'd say you'll have your letter in the morning from them for charges. Portlaoise always seem to be slower sending them out than the dmc but 2/3 days is normal for them.

    Portlaoise also never seem to reply when i send them the invoice telling me how much i owe. It doesn't bother me as I do have it worked out already but just be aware if it rather then the postman knocking and looking for payment to and saying he has no change :)

    Was it brand name product you purchased? If it was and the goods were fake, they get destroyed.

    If the invoice is clearly lower than the goods value (huge problem from China) then the package goes into a queue and is usually dealt with within 2 days and if they think the value is false, they will send a letter to you requesting copy of payment.
