    Good Morning,

I have a 00 VW Golf and it is losing power and cutting out when first started on a cold day. I have brought it to a Mechanic and he thought it was the Throttle Body replaced but this has not made any difference. Anyone any ideas what it might be??? Might it be the Oxygen sensor?

    Thanks

Im far from any expert, but if it was the oxegen sensor wouldnt it be spluttering when driving as well as cutting out when parked up:confused:

Got it scanned and it was saying the Throttle Body but when this has been changed, the problem is still there. It says an Oxygen sensor needs to be replaced but I dont want to go ahead with that if it doesnt fix the problem.

Any lights on in the dash? You could get an oxygen sensor in a breakers for a fraction of the cost of a new one.

No lights came on the dash. Intake Manifold pressure sensor came up on the diagnostics. Head is wrecked with it tbh.

Could be Crank Speed Sensor or Brake Sensor or ECR Valve have had similiar issue's and was all of the above at different stages of owning the car.

Have you checked your coolant/antifreeze levels?

When the throttle body was replaced, was the throttle angle reset?

A faulty coolant temperature sensor could be a potential culprit.

Try the coolant temperature sensor, if that doesn't work, do you do much mileage?

i know two Golfs that have had this sorted with a good drive.
