Bikes in bike bags on intercity trains

    Does anyone know if i have to book a space for my bike if it is in a bike bag (travelling ennis - dublin)?

    I'd say not, it's just luggage.

    I have brought bike bag on intercity train several times. It's luggage(just big luggage).
    Never questioned once.

    I would say to make it easy on yourself book the single seat at top of carriage so you can keep bag next to you.
