..:owas looking for a 22-250 for foxs but fickle me has been talking to a couple of experienced deer hunters (more like bombarding them with questions) and have been shown the error of my ways. More importantly I had a word with my FO and was very pleasantly surprised when I got the go ahead to get a .243. This will now give me a broader choice of potential quarry.
So now a new question …. I have an old Banner Bushnell (23 years) 3-9x40 with red dot option in the cross hairs that has served me very well in years of .22 field use and has never lost its accuracy per say… will this do on a .243 for 100m plus ranges?

Personaly its all about whats in your pocket. You have a good scope. Treat yourself to a 50mm lense or maybe more magnification is its distance you like. Its your choice. You have a good scope but upgrade treat yourself to enjoy your 243 better. best of luck with her ;)

With a 243 loaded with lighter bullets you will soon be knocking foxes at ranges you wouldn,t have previously believed with a bit of practise.

It,s all down to how deep your pocket is really. But bear in mind there are a lot of decent 2nd hand scopes about.John Lambert in Camolin is worth A, a phone call.B,a visit. He,d never sell you a pup.
