About €677. Open to correction though.

Thats what put me off buying a gti. Along with €3600 for insurance. 21 years old, 6 penalty points. Learned my lesson when I couldn't afford the car I wanted.

I don't criticise anyone for penalty points anymore.. you have to drive like an angel these days not to get them. The tax is such a rip-off you should get your first 5 fines free anyway..

It makes driving very stressful and not fun at all anymore, even if you are driving within the limits.

Tell me about it. I do be driving through the city centre in Dublin a lot. The 30kmph limit is so hard to keep to and trust me I try my best.

€660 ain't bad now in fairness, not exactly expensive for tax in this country.

If it is registered from 1st July 2008 it will be Co2 based and could be higher.

Thats why the ice was so much fun last year. Made the m1 interesting at a legal speed!
