I presume this is GSR 1325, though there are far more than two wooden coaches surviving. Mind you it's one of only three GSR built carriages left (C&LR's 1144 and the RPSI's 1335 being the others).

The compiler seems to have got the 141 class wrong, is it not 152 that is at Moyasta and 146 at the DCDR?

As for the turntable, I've vague recollections hearing/reading that the one from Thurles (or maybe Ballybrophy?) went to one of the narrow gauge preservation sites at some point. May well be wrong though.

I think it's from Portdarlington, from when they tore out the old yard a few years ago.

Jackie told me where it came out of but I wasn't able to translate what he said :D Joke over; he said it was the one from Portarlington.

Whatever about the long trip or iffy weather down there, it is most definitely worth a visit. It's a stunning location, the museum has tidy and well stocked while Sliave Callan is probably the closest to a new steam engine that you will ever see.

What a pity that this place is so out of the way and almost impossible to get to for people without a car.

What about the diesel loco 'Nippy' at Stradbally Co.Laoise, that was built in 1936 and remains operational today, you have to count the 3ft gauge.:D
