I'm looking for Lidl only (not Aldi) experiences on this thread.

    Current and past experiences.
    Good and bad.
    What really goes on.
How it had shaped you and your career.
You first / last or currently typical day in Lidl.
    The list goes on.

I'm writing a book about this company and it's 10 year history in Ireland.

For current employees who might be worried about expressing an opinion or telling your story, send me a PM instead if you wish to remain anonymous as I suspect many of you will.

Feel free to post Book title and chapter suggestions also.
    Eg Hello-Thank You-Bye

Intesting topic for a book! The discounters have definitely revolutionised the Irish Grocery retail market place. In the short space of time that they have been here they command a good share of the grocery €. About 12-13%, I think.

They put Superquinn to the Sword and are hurting Dunnes & Supervalu. The only thing that is keeping Tesco's market share where it's at is it's new store opening over the last 3 years +15.

To do a book on this you need senior management insight......there have been a few retirements recently in the other retailers perhaps some of these guys might provide a better overview of the retail marketplace and tactics.

FWIW My father in law waits religously for the Aldi/Lidl brochure in the Independent every weekend!

    Book title - Discount Matters.

Alternatively ask for ideas in AH.
