Advice needed on pending court case

At the start of legal proceedings with my x wife , she is bringing me to court to obtain a separation.
She has filled out her statement of means but has told some lies on it.
basically I pay all the house bills ,inc phone internet esb ,her car insurance ,vhi pay for her to take holidays with kids one or twice a year plus cash 100 pw and pay for any extras like xmass ,birthday parties etc .and take the kids away on holidays my self each year since we separated 4 years ago
She is under medical care for mental issues and has been involuntary admitted to st pats hospital 3 times and gone in another 2 time her self.
I was told to leave the family home by her and had to under threat of violence.
basically she is a good mother to the kids when she takes her meds.
she is claiming disability for her self due to mental issues and claiming full money for the kids ,saying that I am not supporting her(a lie) so the state is paying a lot of money to her each week and the kids get grants for college
I am been summonsed to court this month for not filling out my statement of means which i kept putting off.
At present I can save some money per week and pay my rent and what will happen to her social welfare payments if I tell a judge the facts of the case, also I dont wish that she ends up back in hospital so I have to tread carefully
My big question is as I have no house and in the current climate can I justify me saving money for a deposit on a house as to where part of my wages goes I take home about 700 Pw or will the judge not allow me to save and give this spare cash to her each week.
Ps I dont wish to employ a solicitor unless as a last resort.
Thanks in advance for any advice

You've left your children in the care of a woman who's habitually been hospitalised for mental issues and whom you only regard as a good mother to the kids "when she takes her meds"?!

OP, imho, you should be renting a house big enough for your family and looking for custody here (or perhaps paying towards your ex wife's rent in an apartment somewhere).

Sorry OP, we cannot provide you with legal advice and you sound like that's what you really need to see where you stand - you need to contact a solicitor.

    All the very best
