Given Newcastle's success, maybe we should be buying less Irish lads and more Senegalese

Anyone want to name the players?

Stephen Ireland posing with the tricolour is pretty special.

I'm fine with Ireland returning after the Euros. I would imagine Trap would think exactly the same way.

It's actually pretty disgusting. Especially given the way he has conducted himself.

He does not deserve to be anywhere near the flag.

He might be a proud Irishman. No correlation between patriotism and wanting to play for the FAI XI.

Newstalk have been reporting this morning that he wants to come back.

Looking at the article that darkman posted Stephen Ireland doesn't say anything. His GF said it would be nice to see him play but that she can't talk for Stephen himself.

He's Irish. He has as much as right as you to 'be near' an Irish flag.

They do use flags outside of football too.

She probably has a fairly good idea of what he wants though.

He probably just told her to engage in a spot of trolling.

Yeh but if he was a proud Irishman he would also be proud to wear the Irish jersey they do kind of go hand in hand.

Not come out wit Roy Keane bollocksology about discrimination against Cork.

On a seperate not does anyone know much about the young Irish players at Villa?

Sure if you loved Ireland you'd be out training to represent us in some sport instead of drinking Bulmers no?

Poor argument really, if I had the talent to represent Ireland yes I would.

:pac::pac: your not very good at forming constructive arguments are ya now, im no teenager so I know the restrictions of my own talent and am past my sell my by date as regards making it in any sports to represent Ireland on a international stage, in short once again to answer your question if I had the ability to make at an international level at any sport for Ireland I would have given my left nut, so unless you can be more tactful or at least come up with an decent reply dont bother.

I am with you there grenache. He has shown nothing but contempt for the Irish national team in his behaviour both during the time when he was caught out with his granny lies and since then.

Supposedly a great prospect. Can't say I've seen him in action myself though.

Not when he sticks the two fingers up to the whole nation like he has done since 07.

He's a great player. IIRC he's one of only a small few players to go straight from a team outside of the main feeder teams in Ireland into a team in the Premiership. He used to play for the club I am with myself in Kilkenny, Evergreen.

Very good prospect and he has no trouble banging in the goals. He played in that Next-Gen tourney and he has a few goals for the reserves side as well, including a goal against Arsenal a few weeks ago. Hopefully he keeps on improving over there.
