Anyone feel this like walking in a shop nowdays is kinda intimidating?

How possible is it I'll get a job as well?

Look for someone in HR or the Manager, don't just hand it to anyone. You shouldn't feel intimidated, try and act confident and friendly.

Shops are getting wayyy more CV's than they used to, some on a ridiculous level. There is still no need to be rude or dismissive to someone handing one in- but just bear in mind you're number 5 or 6 that day alone to say 'Hi, can I hand my CV in?'. Might make it easier.

If you're going to supermarkets and department stores, CVs need to be handed in to the customer service desk ONLY. They will be lost elsewhere and managers on the floor have no say in hiring so its pointless trying to talk to one. HR do it all behind the scenes.

Be aware of who hires online- plenty of places won't accept CVs and do everything online. Debenhams, Next, H&M, Brown Thomas, A-Wear are just some examples coming to mind.

Depending on the shop, ask for the manager and ask if they have any vacancies.

If they don't have vacancies, then don't leave a CV (unless you think it's the sort of place that might get vacancies often, eg Dunnes). No point leaving your personal details to gather dust where they're unwanted.

Agree with the above and also try to dress well in case you do come face to face with a manager. Don't walk in wearing jeans, runners and a t-shirt or some other crappy casual attire.

If you're younger and don't feel comfortable 'dressing up' at least wear a collared shirt (tucked in!) with chinos maybe and something resembling a shoe.

First impressions count so be presentable, polite and confident. If they are actually hiring you've already helped your chances.
