Where's my photos gone (lightroom2)

I've run into a bit of a problem, about 250 of my photos are giving me this error:



It was a lot more but I found where they were saved on the mac and put them back in lightroom, i'm still short 252 and can find no trace of them. Any idea where they could be hiding, searching for the missing file name yields no results.

Did you have them on a different drive and then move them , or even a different folder. That can be the cause of it with Lightroom

No I didn't move them, I load them into lightroom directly from my camera memory card. I just leave them there then until I want to print or use them.

This may sound simple, but have you tried searching for the filename? If it finds them, it should hopefully lead you to the rest.

When you upload them to Lightroom they are put into a folder with just a date name for example 2012-02-07 if you did it today. Look fdor that folder in your picture folder or where ever you usually put them before exporting them after post processing.

Just looking at your photo and its name it appears that it is an exported photo. Where do you usually export your Lightroom photos to after altering them ?
