    roughly 35mpg... good going in a corolla i reckon.

    got to remember 50 quid only buys you around 30 liters these days.

    my 1.6 vvti corolla was getting almost the same when i drove it very easy.

    im getting 45 + mpg on long spins from 98 corolla with 160 k mils on it, have a 45 mile tip to work, got 408 miles from my last tank full, thats driving very very economically though, put the boot down and your talking about 38 - 40 mpg for long spins.

    It definitely is achievable on long journeys. I was assuming the op was talking about short to medium journeys when i say it is normal. If these are long trips then that is not normal.
