The salary scales are on the TUI/ASTI websites. http://www.tui.ie/Salary_Scales/Default.286.html

Add up the salary for Point 3, Hons Degree and Hons HDip, which is the salary for full hours and then multiply by 10/22 as this is the fraction of full hours which you are working.

Ballpark figure for the three added together is about 39K. 10/22 of that is 17K approx. Divide by 12 for monthly pay is just over 1400 gross monthly pay.

unless you are subbing in which case its a per hour rate. some people mistake temporary contract with day to day subbing

    Hi,

Quick query regarding the allowances that are afforded to teachers. I have the PGDE and also an M.A.

I had heard that each teacher can only use one of these, with the qualification with the greater grade being allocated. Is this true, or, like the previous post, you can claim to use both qualifications, i.e. in my case the M.A. allowance and also the Dip allowance?

I taught in Ireland in January 2010 until June that year, so I'm assuming I won't fall foul of the 10% pay reduction that followed.

    Thanks
